Pre-registration for the 2017 Hallow-Palooza will begin on October 1. The event is scheduled for 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, followed by a family movie (Monster Inc.) in the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion at Heritage Park. Hallow-Palooza is the City of Taylor's marquee family Halloween event. It is free for residents (bring valid identification) and $5 per non-resident child attending. All minors must be accompanied by an authorized adult or parent throughout the event. Pre-registration begins October 1, both online and in person at the Heritage Park Petting Farm (12803 Pardee). The Petting Farm is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. If you are registering in person, cash only, please. Hallow-Palooza was created last year to wild success, with thousands of people attending. The trick-or-treat event follows a path that winds it way through "spooky locations" in Heritage Park, the petting farm, Taylor Conservatory & Botanical Gardens and other stops.
Forty locations offer trick-or-treat candies, and the conservatory sponsors a wonderful "scary car show" in its gardens' area. Bring your own trick-or-treat bags! Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase, and a Scarecrow Contest will take place on location, with attendees voting. There will be plenty of bounce houses, music and more. Hallow-Palooza is brought to you by the City of Taylor, Keck Real Estate, Wayne County Community College District, McKinley, Taylor Conservatory & Botanical Gardens and the Rotary Club of Taylor.
