Turn Off the Violence Day

The annual "Turn Off the Violence Day" took on a different twist in 2016. Beaumont's Healthy Taylor and The Rotary Club of Taylor presented "Turn Off the Violence: Turn on Health" in September at the Sheridan Open Air Pavilion in Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee.

The event is always free and includes a picnic lunch and activities like a performance by the West Middle School Band, face painting, bouncy houses, demonstrations by the Taylor Police and Taylor Fire departments -- and lots of physical activities like Zumba, soccer, hula hoops, guessing games and more. Prizes are involved for children who get their healthy "activities passport" stamped.
